Sites like WebMD were the first step to cyberMedicine.
On WebMD, you can look up information on many health-related issues. You can go on message boards to discuss symptoms and treatments, and find support from others who have the same ailments. You can even go through a detailed “symptom checker” to self-diagnose.
The Results
Some people argue that access to this kind of information is making us “expert patients.” Patients are more informed about diseases as well as treatment options, so we no longer have to rely strictly on what a doctor says to know what is wrong and how we can treat it.
